Belonging
Just
as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so
it is with Christ. 1
Corinthians 12:12
I went to a 90th birthday
party a few years ago. This is an
amazing woman who threw a party for her friends and family whom she loves and
appreciates. She attributes her long,
active, and joyous life to all of us.
She’s still going strong four years later. I was amazed at the diversity of people
there. Their ages, religions, ethnicity,
financial situation, and careers were all incredibly different. It was such an amazing experience!
I visited her later with the intention
of thanking her for such a lovely experience and to discover how this wonderful
situation happened in her life. She
spoke about her love of people, her appreciation for diversity, her desire to
experience new and different things, and her determination to learn something
new every day. Knowing her is such a
gift.
One of the many reasons I
love belonging to the Trinity family is to experience such a group of
people. We are all unique and have
diverse gifts and experiences. Belonging
to Trinity is such a gift.
